Featured: Silent Movie Accompaniment

As part of a recital at Saint Joseph Cathedral in October 2016, Dr. Fitzgerald played an improvised accompaniment to the 1903 silent film Vie et Passion du Christ. The audio recording heard here is the live performance played on the Fritts organ paired up with the film as it was projected for the audience on a large screen temporarily constructed at the front of the sanctuary.

What's Being Said

"The Saint Joseph Cathedral Choir is wonderful under Richard's direction! His rehearsal psychology is masterful - strong and demanding, but in a very kindly but insistent way. I love his conducting style, too - very inviting."
